Shawna Shea screens two Iranian films

Two Iranian films take part in the 10th edition of Shawna Shea Film Festival (SSFF) in the United States.

Two Iranian films have taken part in the 10th edition of Shawna Shea Film Festival (SSFF) in the United States.

The Short Film News website reported that Iranian animation ‘The Sprayer’, directed by Farnoush Aabedi, and Iranian short film ‘Pass’ were screened in the 10th SSFF that was held late last month.

‘Pass’, written and directed by Elika Abdollahi, revolves around a poor woman and shows that not everyone is trustworthy.

“I tried to say that not everyone is predictable, even those we have trust in," the director has said of her film.

‘Pass’ is starring Mina Hamedani, Hessam Hosseini, Soheil Mirza, and Ebrahim Barzideh.

The film won the Founders’ Award Drama Short Film at the seventh edition of Down East Flick Fest (DEFF) in the US.

Meanwhile, ‘The Sprayer’ previously took part in several festivals, including the DC Shorts Film Festival in the US.

“One day, a soldier finds a seed buried deep down in the dust...,” a synopsis for the film reads.

The Shawna Shea Film Festival “celebrates independent films and the people who make them”, the event’s website reads.
